Role Purpose

The Legal, Compliance & Risk Director will lead legal, compliance, and enterprise risk matters across Savills Singapore, covering agency, advisory, valuations, property & facilities management, and facilities services (both soft and hard services).

This position works closely with the Singapore management, including Functional and Business Unit leaders, the APAC Head of Legal & Compliance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Legal Advisory & Support

  • Act as the principal legal adviser to Savills Singapore’s business units on all legal matters.
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and/or advise on all contracts, including client contracts (incl. facility management tenders), vendor agreements, employment agreements, etc.
  • Advise on legal risk allocation, liability, indemnities, insurance, and dispute avoidance.
  • Manage external counsel engagements efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Support corporate matters including restructuring, new entity setup, joint ventures, acquisitions, and divestments in coordination with APAC or Group Legal & Compliance.

2. Compliance & Regulatory Oversight (Singapore)

  • Own and oversee the Singapore compliance framework, aligned with Savills Group Legal & Compliance policies.
  • Ensure compliance with key Singapore laws and regulations relevant to Savills’ businesses (dealing with CEA, BCA, BSMA, SISV, etc.), employment, PDPA, WSH, AML / CFT, etc.
  • Interpret regulatory requirements into practical policies, SOPs, and controls for businesses.
  • Lead regulatory inspections, investigations, audits, and incident responses where required.

3. Enterprise Risk Management & Internal Controls

  • Develop and lead Savills Singapore’s enterprise risk management framework across all entities and business units.
  • Review and maintain risk registers, risk appetite statements, KRIs, and escalation protocols.
  • Oversee internal controls, legal risk assessments, and remediation plans.
  • Work with APAC or Group Internal Audit and Risk teams on internal audits and reviews, follow-ups, and control improvements.

4. Leadership, Governance & Stakeholder Management

  • Build and lead the Legal, Compliance & Risk function in Singapore, including mentoring and developing team members.
  • Serve as a key interface with:
  • Singapore leadership stakeholders
  • APAC or Group Legal, Compliance, and Risk
  • External regulators and advisors
  • Promote culture of ethics, risk awareness, and compliance across Savills Singapore.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualified lawyer admitted in Singapore.
  • Typically 10+ years of post-qualification experience, including:
  • In-house legal role(s) in real estate services, property management, facilities management, facilities services, construction, or related services; and/or
  • Leading law firm experience with strong commercial and regulatory exposure.
  • Proven experience covering legal, compliance, and/or risk responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding of commercial contracting, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
  • Experience operating in a multi-business environment is preferred
