PCIC, based in Calgary, engages in crude oil, natural gas and NGLs/Products business activities in Canada and elsewhere in North America, in coordination with its parent company PetroChina International (America) Inc., based in Houston, Texas. A substantial portion of PCIC’s current operations involves trading energy commodities in the physical and financial markets.
The Role
PCIC seeks to create a new role for a Legal & Compliance Assistant, supporting the Legal and Contracts team in their administration of business contracts, as well as performing some compliance tasks. The Legal and Compliance Assistant will also support mid- and back-office staff with the administration of non-business contracts.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Initial review and comment on both business and non-business contracts;
Assisting with execution and delivery of documents internally, externally and electronically;
Diarization of expiry dates and notifications to appropriate persons;
Reviewing and proof-reading transaction confirmations for accuracy;
New counterparty KYC and record keeping;
Records management;
Responding to audit requests;
Regulatory fillings
Qualifications
Fluency in Mandarin is preferred;
Bachelors Degree from an accredited university or college in a relevant subject;
2+ years of applicable work experience;
Proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and document management software;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong proof reading, grammar and editing skills and strong attention to detail;
