Overview
Consult Energy USA is working with AM 200 Law firm, seeking a mid-to-senior-level associate attorney with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the renewable energy sector to join their small but growing Energy Practice Group.
This is a full-time, in-office position & presents a unique opportunity to join a high-performing, collaborative team within a dynamic and innovative corporate law firm.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide legal counsel to clients engaged in renewable energy projects, with a focus on: Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contracts
Facility operations and regulatory compliance
Advise on a broad range of energy technologies and infrastructure, including: Wind, solar, hydroelectric, and fuel cell facilities, Smart grid, and energy storage systems
Energy efficiency and demand-side management initiatives
Draft, negotiate, and review complex commercial contracts and project agreements, including EPCs and O&M (Operations & Maintenance) contracts
Collaborate with attorneys across practice areas and offices to deliver comprehensive legal solutions
Maintain strong client relationships and contribute to business development efforts
Qualifications:
J.D. from an accredited law school
Active member in good standing of a U.S. State Bar
Minimum of 3 years of relevant legal experience in renewable energy
Demonstrated experience with EPC agreements and other project-level contracts
Familiarity with federal and state regulatory frameworks governing energy projects
Excellent legal research, writing, and communication skills
Strong commitment to client service and collaborative teamwork
Hands-on experience with:
Renewable project development and financing
Interconnection agreements and utility regulation
Environmental compliance in the energy space
Exposure to M&A or real estate aspects of energy projects is a plus
