Cove, LLC and Robert VanLangen, CPA, partner with business owners—particularly international entrepreneurs—to build and scale U.S.-based operations. We’re creating a forward-thinking, entrepreneurial legal and accounting practice with a global reach, and we’re seeking a driven, experienced tax attorney to help lead and shape this mission.
Position Overview:
We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented Tax Attorney with at least 5 years of experience in tax law, ideally including international and cross-border matters. This individual will play a key role in client engagements and help ensure our clients’ compliance with U.S. tax law while supporting their long-term growth and success.
Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Advise clients on U.S. tax law, particularly regarding international entities and cross-border transactions
Prepare and file U.S. federal and state tax returns and related regulatory filings
Draft and review tax-related legal documents, including tax elections and planning memoranda
Provide strategic tax planning, projections, and consulting for business clients
Assist clients with U.S. entity formation and compliance strategy
Support transfer pricing analysis and documentation
Coordinate with foreign legal, accounting, and audit professionals
Identify process improvements and contribute to high-quality client service
Participate in business development and client relationship growth
Qualifications:
J.D. and active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (LL.M. in Taxation a strong plus)
Minimum 5 years of tax law experience, preferably with international or cross-border exposure
Strong knowledge of business tax compliance
Strong understanding of U.S. federal and state tax compliance
Deep transactional tax experience across borders
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
Proficient in accounting platforms (QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP preferred)
Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills
Willing and eligible to travel
