Mahan Law is 3-4 attorney, rapidly growing, boutique business law firm based in Bellevue, Kentucky. Our primary practice areas are mergers and acquisitions, entrepreneurial start-ups, employment law, general in-house counsel, and some civil litigation. Our firm heavily specializes in the veterinary industry and serves clients throughout the United States. We also serve other healthcare industries, namely, dentistry. Distinguishing ourselves from traditional law firms, we offer our business clients unique flat fee and subscription-based representation models rather than hourly fees.
This is a full-time position as a Paralegal/Legal Assistant to join our firm and assist our attorneys and Managing Attorney. The ideal candidate will be willing assist in all aspects of our business transactions and other representations.
Primary Duties
Assisting with legal business transactions and logistics including formation, organization and closings
Form drafting of transactional documents and other aspects of client requirements
Assisting in answering phones and setting up calls and virtual meetings
Maintaining closing calendars and client database records
Conducting due diligence reviews of documents
Participating in deal-closing activities, including preparing signature packages, closing binders, etc
Communicating and building relationships with clients, staff, internal resources, and outside vendors
Performing research; and managing relevant databases and files
Leading projects and organizational management activities
Candidate must be willing to learn, have high attention to detail, be self-motivated, diligent, and have a desire to work with professional entrepreneurs.
A minimum of one year experience in a legal environment, medical office, project management, or veterinary management is required. Previous experience with mergers and acquisitions, contracts, business law, real estate transactions, start-ups, employment law, human resources, commercial litigation, or private equity a plus.
We offer a flexible, relaxed working environment. No billable hour requirements. The vast majority of our clients are remote representations. The position will be in our brand new, contemporary office in Bellevue, KY.
This position reports directly to attorneys and our paralegal administrator.
