Legal Assistant / Paralegal ( 5yr Personal injury Experience Part time/Full time Jobs in Manchester, NH at Tenn And Tenn, P.A.

Smith Hulsey & Busey is seeking a full-time Commercial Litigation Paralegal to join our litigation team. This is a key opportunity for a motivated, detail-oriented professional seeking long-term growth within a dynamic and collaborative legal environment. The role involves working closely with experienced attorneys and supporting complex, high-stakes commercial litigation matters. We seek candidates with at least three years of experience in business or commercial litigation.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to 2+ Litigation lawyers
Communicating with lawyers and clients regarding the status of cases
Communicating with client(s) to obtain relevant information and documentation required to progress the case
Analyzing incoming pleadings and correspondence to determine response requirements, deadlines, and/or other critical dates and calendaring the same
Keeping lawyers apprised of filings in their respective cases
Preparing legal documents such as motions, notices, discovery responses, and witness subpoenas
Proofing and editing appellate briefs, dispositive motions, and other substantive motions, including checking and verifying accuracy of record cites, case cites, formatting, etc.
Assembling appendices to appellate briefs
Preparing hearing notebooks
Assisting lawyers in preparing cases for trial, including, but not limited to, preparing exhibits and witness lists, trial exhibits, video clips of depositions, PowerPoint presentations, uploading documentary evidence into trial presentation software, operating trial presentation software during trial, and coordinating logistics of various aspects of trial
Monitoring and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations and legal procedures
Filing documents electronically with the court
Assisting with accounting and billing needs by responding accurately and promptly to the Firm’s Accounting Department for concerns, including but not limited to: time-keeping input, questions and adjustments, Work In Process status updates, delinquent accounts receivables, etc.
Additional duties as required.

Knowledge, Education, Skills & Abilities Preferred Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certification preferred. Ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of commercial litigation experience. Candidates looking to grow into a senior-level role are encouraged to apply.
Prior experience with time-keeping and record management software; Orion and NetDocs preferred
Proficiency in computer technology used in an office environment (Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe, etc.)
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with lawyers, executives, and clients
Initiative, critical thinking mindset, and problem-solving skills are must-haves

Additional Information:

The candidate should plan to work scheduled in-office hours coinciding with lawyers she/he supports for best productivity realization; these hours are typically but not exclusively 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, Monday – Friday
Minimal overtime hours should be anticipated, and will be discussed in advance and necessitated by special projects and/or work flow.
