We are committed to the pursuit of social justice. We are currently seeking a Personal Assistant / Paralegal, with experience in personal injury litigation, on a full-time, permanent basis to join our dedicated Brisbane CBD-based team on a permanent basis.
Please note that although this role is a full-time opportunity, we are open to discussions around flexibility for the right candidate with relevant experience.
The Responsibilities
- Working with our solicitors to successfully support them with day-to-day operations of files/client management across personal injury files including workers compensation, motor vehicle accident claims, public liability and medical negligence claims.
- High-volume transcribing author dictations to a high-standard, and within a timely manner.
- Draft legal documents, such as notice of appeal, list of documents, claim forms and schedule of damages with excellent attention to detail.
- Efficiently coordinating medico-legal appointments, compulsory conferences and mediations.
- Cultivating strong relationships with our clients, employees, Counsel and other external stakeholders.
- Supporting our Legal team with optimising the use of internal systems to process information.
- When required, preparing matters for conference and hearing, including preparation of court and legal documents and general correspondence.
The Skills
- Previous experience in a similar position, with exposure to personal injury litigation (e.g. public liability, motor vehicle, workers compensation and/or medical negligence claims).
- Accurate typing skills with intermediate Word & Excel skills.
- Keen eye for detail in your document management and collation skills.
- You’ll be a great communicator both verbally and in writing.
- You’ll recognise and value the importance of your role in being the gateway to support our clients.
- Organisational skills including management of author's diary.
- The ability to work 38 hours per week, between the hours of 8:15am – 5pm Monday to Friday from our Brisbane CBD-based office. However, if you're looking for something more flexible, let's talk!
