Responsibilities

Mill Creek Law is looking to add to our team of skilled support staff to support our domestic relations, litigation and estate practice. As a comprehensive law firm in Snohomish County, our attorneys offer a wide range of services to the community including a high paced litigation practice with a focus on family, elder and estate litigation. The legal assistant/paralegal will be responsible for providing a high level of administrative support including preparation of documents and pleadings, matter management, calendar and court management and confirmation, project organization, database/file management, tracking deliverables, maintaining calendars, time and expense entry, and promoting office efficiency. Areas of responsibility will include:

Performing complex legal secretarial activities that may be highly confidential or sensitive, requiring diplomacy and discretion;

Drafting, finalizing and filing pleadings;

Coordinating lawyers’ calendars and scheduling;

Opening files and conducting conflict checks;

Creating, editing, and proofreading letters, legal documents, and memos, including checking documents for content and context;

Organizing and maintaining all correspondence and documents using the relevant document management system;

Managing emails, calendar appointments, and client contact lists;

Assisting other legal assistants with overflow work and providing backup support during periods of annual or personal leave; and

Providing backup support for reception and office or client services functions.

Qualifications

Ideal qualifications include:

2+ years’ experience in fast-paced legal environment;

Excellent and clear oral and written communication skills;

Superior interpersonal skills and patience in communication with clients;

Ability to organize and prioritize workload and use own judgment in decision making on how to adequately and efficiently meet all deadlines;

Ability to take the initiative in handling projects and anticipating what needs to be done;

High degree of organization, professionalism and dependability;

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and time-keeping applications; and

Must display a professional manner with clients, lawyers, paralegals and other staff members.

What We Offer

Mill Creek Law offers a competitive total compensation package with salary commensurate with experience. Expected compensation range commensurate with experience of $60,000 – $75,000 per year. Benefits including but not limited to:
