Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Paralegal/Legal Assistant to support the Contracts team within our Vendor Information Risk Management (VIRM) group. This role involves reviewing contracts, ensuring the necessary legal language is included, and assisting with general contract management for medium-risk vendors. The successful candidate will have a solid background in legal contract clauses, vendor management, and third-party risk, with strong organizational and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
Review contracts to ensure appropriate legal language (including ML contract clauses) is incorporated where necessary.
Manage the inbox and action requests for contract reviews and related inquiries.
Review contracts for medium-risk vendors and provide recommendations on legal terms.
Assist with organizing and supporting the Contracts team with day-to-day activities.
Maintain accurate documentation and track contract-related deliverables and timelines.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proper risk management and compliance across vendor contracts.
Contribute to continuous improvements in the contract review and approval processes.
Must-Have Skills:
8-10 years of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant.
Strong experience with contract clauses, including the ability to read, write, and interpret legal clauses.
General knowledge of procurement, vendor management, and third-party risk.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
Nice-to-Have Skills:
Background in IT or technology-related fields.
Experience with procurement or contract negotiation.
Legal background or certifications in relevant areas.
Education and Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
Paralegal Certification is highly preferred.
