Child Support Case Manager III – Legal Specialist

Do you have strong analytical skills, an interest in working with the local courts, and want to be able to help others? In this role, you will be the primary person responsible preparing court documentation for child support cases, conduct administrative reviews to determine fair child support orders, conduct administrative hearings and provide testimony to applicable courts on agency actions taken on child support cases. Your work counts – in child support, we make sure that children receive financial and medical support according to federal, state, and local laws and rules. Responsibilities include conducting interviews to establish facts, reviewing case history, answering customer questions, verifying documentation on cases, entering documentation in computer system, conduct administrative reviews and summarizing and presenting all information gathered to establish and/or enforce child support orders.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Two years of experience in performing child support functions timely and accurately, to include conducting investigations to locate absent parents, establishment of paternity, and enforcement of child support orders, as well as effective written and verbal communication; AND

Completion of two years technical training or undergraduate major core course work in criminology, social work, psychology or related field; OR

Education, training and/or experience in an amount equal to the Minimum Qualifications stated above.

Must pass post-offer, pre-employment: background check, motor vehicle record check and drug screen (Note: while recreational marijuana may be legal in the state of Ohio, the county has elected to prohibit employees or applicants from using or testing positive for marijuana or THC. Any positive drug test will result in a withdrawal of the conditional offer of employment.)

PAY: $20.16 to $24.58 per hour, with additional pay at completion of probation.
