Details
We are seeking a Legal Assistant to support the Dispute Resolution & Advocacy practice group in Toronto. The ideal candidate will have over 3 years of experience in a similar role. This is a Hybrid position requiring a minimum of 4 days in office. Occasionally, based on business needs, the candidate may need to work onsite up to 5 days a week, with notice.
Primary
Responsibilities
Scheduling calls, meetings, and appointments
Requesting conflict checks, opening and closing files
Communicating with clients, experts, service providers, and courts
Drafting, sending, and replying to correspondence
Compiling, serving, and filing court documents
Maintaining calendars and effective BF system
Preparing and sending invoices, communicating billing matters
Drafting documents based on precedents
First point of contact for prospective clients
Organizing events, conferences, and registrations
Managing expense reports
Transcribing and proofreading dictation
File maintenance, scanning, uploading into DMS
Other administrative duties
Qualifications
At least 3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant in Litigation
Experience in commercial litigation is an asset
Familiarity with The Rules of Civic Procedure
Attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong work ethic and self-motivation
Ability to work independently and in a team
Excellent communication skills
Experience with technology and hybrid work environment
Experience with Case Center and JSO portal required
Experience with ACL, Relativity One, iManage, or One Drive is an asset
Working Conditions

Fast-paced with multiple deadlines
Autonomous role requiring proactive management
