We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our Fort Lauderdale office. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual interested in pursuing a legal career and gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced law firm.

Key Responsibilities
The Legal Assistant will play a critical role in supporting attorneys by ensuring efficient case management and administrative operations. Responsibilities include:
Maintaining and organizing attorney work files, pleadings, and court documents
Drafting, proofreading, and filing legal documents with courts and agencies
Managing attorney calendars, including scheduling and deadline tracking
Monitoring and ensuring timely compliance with filing deadlines
Coordinating and scheduling hearings, depositions, client meetings, and opposing counsel conferences
Conducting legal research and background investigations as needed
Serving as a liaison for communications between attorneys, clients, and courts
Drafting, reviewing, and mailing correspondence
Assisting with finalizing attorney time entries and client billing

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

Strong interest in pursuing a legal career
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel) & Adobe Acrobat
Prior administrative or clerical experience in a legal setting preferred
Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
Self-motivated and proactive approach to tasks
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
