Legal Specialist
Job Summary:
The Legal Specialist provides legal assistance and support across various business functions. This role involves essential administrative, organizational, and clerical support to the company’s legal teams, ensuring the efficient operation of legal processes and compliance with deadlines.The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of corporate law and governance/housekeeping requirements, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Administrative Support:
Prepare, edit, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and presentations.
Schedule and manage appointments, meetings, deadlines, and contract tracking for attorneys.
Maintain and organize electronic and physical legal files, ensuring easy accessibility and compliance with record-keeping standards.
Secretarial Duties:
Prepare and draft routine correspondence, emails, and memoranda as directed by legal counsel.
Manage and direct incoming calls, take detailed messages, and address inquiries professionally.
Provide general administrative support to ensure smooth office operations.
Corporate Governance and Housekeeping:
Assist in drafting, reviewing, and maintaining corporate records, including board resolutions and memos, secretary’s certificates, minutes, and other governance documents.
Assist in filing legal and regulatory reports.
General office tasks
Monitor and order office supplies, ensuring the legal team has the necessary tools to perform their work.
Assist in processing invoices, expense reports, and budget tracking for the legal department.
Qualifications:
At least 3-5 years of relevant experience as a legal assistant or paralegal in a corporate legal environment or law firm.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in contract management systems or tools.
