A Real Estate Paralegal is responsible for providing comprehensive support during real estate closings. Your role involves assisting attorneys and clients by preparing and reviewing legal documents, and ensuring that all aspects of the closing process adhere to legal requirements and industry regulations. Attention to detail, legal expertise, and ability to manage complex transactions are instrumental in facilitating successful real estate closings.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Document Preparation:
Drafting and preparing legal documents related to real estate transactions, such as contracts, deeds, and closing statements.
Title Insurance
Coordinating the receipt of title insurance binder for closing and collecting the appropriate premiums.
Reviewing the title binder and satisfying all requirements prior to closing.
Coordination with Parties:
Facilitating communication between buyers, sellers, real estate agents, lenders, and other involved parties to ensure a smooth transaction process.
Due Diligence:
Assisting in the due diligence process by reviewing property records, surveys, and other relevant documents to identify any potential issues or discrepancies.
Closing Preparation:
Coordinating the logistics of the closing, including scheduling, preparing closing statements, and ensuring all necessary documents are in order.
Financial Transactions:
Handling financial aspects of the closing, such as managing funds in escrow, disbursing payments, and calculating prorations.
Recordkeeping:
Maintaining accurate and organized records of all transactions, documents, and communications related to the real estate closing process.
Client Communication:
Keeping clients informed about the progress of the transaction, addressing their queries, and providing necessary updates.
Compliance:
Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and procedures governing real estate transactions.
Post-Closing Activities:
Handling post-closing tasks, including recording deeds, disbursing final funds, and ensuring all necessary documents are properly filed.
Problem Resolution:
Identifying and resolving any issues or challenges that may arise during the closing process, working collaboratively with stakeholders to find solutions.
Qualifications/Core compentencies
Document Management:
* Organizing, maintaining and drafting documents related to real estate transactions.
Transaction Support:
* Assisting in the preparation and organization of real estate closings.
Coordinating communication and documentation between parties involved in a transaction, including clients, real estate agents, lenders, and other attorneys.
Communication Skills:
* Effectively communicating with clients, real estate agents, title companies, and other professionals involved in the transaction.
Drafting correspondence and legal memos.
Knowledge of Real Estate Laws and Regulations:
* Understanding the legal requirements and processes associated with real estate transactions in the relevant jurisdiction.
Closing Procedures:
* Familiarity with the closing process, including the preparation of closing statements and settlement documents.
Coordinating the logistics of closing meetings.
Attention to Detail:
* Thoroughly reviewing legal documents and contracts to identify errors or discrepancies.
Ensuring that all necessary details are accurate and in compliance with legal requirements.
