We are a prestigious boutique law firm seeking a detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support our attorneys (2) in serving high-net-worth individuals. This role involves assisting with tax filings, corporate legal matters, probate proceedings, and estate planning (wills and trusts). The ideal candidate will be highly organized, discreet, and proactive in managing legal documents, filings, and client communications.
Job Responsibilities: Prepare, proofread, and file legal documents related to corporate law, tax, probate, and estate planning. Assist attorneys in managing case files, drafting correspondence, and organizing legal research. Coordinate with clients, accountants, financial advisors, and court clerks to facilitate legal processes. Maintain and update client records, ensuring compliance with confidentiality and regulatory requirements. Schedule client meetings, hearings, and deadlines to keep cases on track. Conduct preliminary legal research and compile necessary documentation for attorney review. Handle electronic and paper filing of court documents, tax filings, and corporate records. Assist with the preparation of wills, trusts, business agreements, and probate filings. Qualifications:Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred; paralegal certification is a plus. Experience: 2+ years as a legal assistant or paralegal, preferably in tax law, corporate law, or estate planning. Skills: Strong knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and estate planning principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, legal case management software, and e-filing systems. Exceptional organizational, research, and communication skills. Ability to handle sensitive client information with discretion. Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Preferred: Familiarity with tax filings, corporate entity formation, probate administration, and trust documents.
