Part-time Legal Assistant
We seek an exceptional part-time administrative professional to join our elite NYC team. Position is performed 3 days in our mid-town NYC office per week. The Legal Assistant role provides day-to-day administrative support for the Riemer Hess team of attorneys and paralegals. This administrative support role is critical for the effective and efficient operations of the law firm.
The position requires a self-starter with a service-oriented mindset and upbeat personality. Professional communications skills are required to interface with our professional and executive clients, insurance companies, doctors’ offices, court officials and legal colleagues. The essential job duties require strong organizational skills, time management, attention to detail, and technological savvy as well as solid writing and proofreading skills, and experience juggling multiple people and projects.
Job Duties:
Answering phones; processing incoming/outgoing mail including scanning, categorizing and distributing incoming mail, faxes and deliveries in the NYC office; handling bank deposits; sending, receiving, and following up on medical record requests; calendar management; drafting and proofreading correspondence and legal documents; interfacing with insurance companies and doctors’ offices; and other general office administrative duties to support the effective and efficient day-to-day operations of our Firm.

We Require:
Minimum of 2 years prior work experience in a law firm or similar office setting
Strong written and verbal communications skills (Degree in English a plus)
Experience managing multiple priorities
Attention to detail and deadlines
Strong time management and organizational skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Slack and PDF software
Education: associate or bachelor’s degrees preferred
We Offer:
$25 per hour, commensurate with experience
3 full days per week in our NYC office (Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday)
