Duties
- Assist with legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy development
- Draft, review, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and reports with accuracy and attention to detail
- Manage case files using case management software such as CLIO or similar systems, ensuring all documents are properly organized and accessible
- Handle document management systems for filing, retrieving, and archiving case materials efficiently
- Perform data entry tasks related to case details, client information, and court filings while maintaining data integrity
- Support attorney with legal discovery processes by organizing evidence and preparing discovery requests
- Communicate professionally with clients, vendors, and internal teams to coordinate meetings, gather information, and provide updates on case progress
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information at all times while handling legal documentation and client data
- Use Microsoft Office tools—Word, Excel, PowerPoint—to prepare reports, summaries, and presentations as needed
- Assist with administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and processing invoices
Skills
- Strong analysis skills to interpret legal documents and identify relevant information quickly
- Legal drafting skills for creating clear, precise documents including pleadings, motions, and correspondence
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word processing, Excel) for document creation and data management
- Attention to detail for proofreading legal documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards
- Knowledge of document management systems for efficient filing and retrieval of case materials
- Data entry skills combined with organizational abilities to manage multiple cases simultaneously
- Familiarity with legal research techniques and tools to support case development
- Understanding of legal discovery processes including evidence organization and review
- Ability to handle confidential information discreetly while maintaining professional integrity
- Excellent writing skills for drafting correspondence and summarizing complex information clearly
- Technical proficiency in legal administrative tools and software applications used in law offices
- Strong client communication skills to provide professional support during interactions with clients or external parties
- Previous experience in a law office or legal environment is highly desirable
