Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Legal Assistant role based in the Waterloo–Cedar Falls area. The Legal Assistant will support attorneys with day-to-day tasks such as preparing and organizing legal documents, maintaining case files, and managing deadlines. Responsibilities include drafting correspondence, scheduling appointments and court dates, handling client communications, and assisting with document filing and record keeping. The role also involves coordinating administrative tasks for the office, ensuring accurate data entry, and supporting case preparation through basic research and information gathering. The position requires consistent in-person collaboration with attorneys and staff to ensure efficient case management and client service.
Qualifications
- Effective Communication skills for interacting with clients, attorneys, courts, and external partners.
- Administrative Assistance skills, including scheduling, file management, data entry, and general office support.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and respect for client confidentiality.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Comfort using office software and legal practice management tools; willingness to learn new systems.
- Prior experience in a law firm or legal services environment preferred.
- Relevant education or training in legal studies, paralegal work, or office administration is beneficial.
