Derrevere Stevens BlackCozad, a national law firm with offices in New York and New Jersey, is currently seeking a highly skilled Litigation Paralegal to support our Subrogation Practice Group. This position offers flexibility of remote work and a collaborative, fast-paced work environment.
Our nationally recognized firm is dedicated to excellence in subrogation litigation, and we are looking for a detail-oriented, experienced paralegal to assist in managing a high-volume caseload alongside our attorneys.

We seek a seasoned paralegal with a strong background in litigation who thrives in a high-profile, fast-paced legal practice. The ideal candidate must possess exceptional organizational, analytical, and case management skills, with the ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of accuracy and efficiency. This individual will play a critical role in case preparation, investigation, and litigation support.
Candidates should possess a minimum of seven years’ experience in litigation support, and case management. Prior experience working in insurance recovery or plaintiff-side litigation is highly preferred.

The salary range for this position is $60,000 to $90,000, reflecting our commitment to fair and competitive compensation. The actual salary will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Case Management: Assist attorneys with managing a high-volume docket of subrogation matters from inception through resolution.
Legal ResearchAnalysis: Conduct legal research on applicable statutes, case law, and regulatory issues relevant to subrogation claims.
DraftingDocumentation: Prepare pleadings, motions, discovery requests, subpoenas, and other legal documents.
InvestigationEvidence Gathering: Gather supporting documentation, review investigative reports, and coordinate with experts to strengthen liability arguments.
ClientThird-Party Communication: Liaise with clients, insureds, adjusters, experts, and opposing counsel to facilitate case progression.
Litigation Support: Assist in trial preparation, including assembling exhibits, deposition summaries, and organizing case files.
CalendarDeadline Management: Maintain court deadlines, filing schedules, and case milestones to ensure timely compliance with procedural requirements.
TechnologyDatabase Management: Utilize case management software and litigation technology to track case progress and maintain accurate records.
Qualifications:
Minimum 7+ years of experience as a litigation paralegal, preferably in subrogation, insurance recovery, or plaintiff-side litigation.
Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate from an accredited institution.
Strong knowledge of state and federal court procedures in New York and New Jersey.
Experience drafting legal documents and managing discovery processes.
Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work efficiently under deadlines.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in litigation software and document management tools.
