As the Legal Assistant on our team, you will work closely with Corporate Legal Counsel in providing legal support and guidance.
We will invest in training, resources and guidance.
Essential Functions Of Position
Research and aide in evaluating different risks regarding business decisions and operations
Apply effective risk management and offer proactive advice on potential legal issues, staying abreast of alterations in applicable legislation
Provide accurate and timely legal counsel to management
Communicate and negotiate with external parties fostering relationships
Draft and review agreements, contracts and other legal documentation
Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge Of
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
:
Computer programs such as MS Office – Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point, and Internet Explorer
Basic legal and customer service principles
Company policies, procedures, and overall mission and vision
Skilled In
Interpersonal and professional communications by talking to others to convey information effectively and actively listening by giving full attention to what others are saying, asking appropriate questions and not interrupting at inappropriate times
Analyzing data and situations accurately with a strong attention to detail in order to develop the proper course of action needed to be taken
Efficient problem-solving
Time management, organization and written communication
Customer service – manages difficult client/customer situations, responds promptly to customer needs, responds to requests for service and assistance and meets commitments
Ability To
Prioritize, accurately multi-task and adhere to any deadlines set
Learn in a fast paced and friendly environment with a high degree of professionalism and integrity
Work with minimal supervision, both independently and as a part of a team in a fast paced and ever changing environment
Other Characteristics
Law degree, working towards law degree (or license to practice law) preferred
Minimum 1 year previous legal counsel experience in a business environment a plus
