Job Title: Part-Time Compliance Inspector/Assistant Program Manager

Job Summary:
The Part-Time Compliance Inspector is responsible for conducting inspections of various retail establishments in Puerto Rico to ensure adherence to applicable local and federal regulations. This role is ideal for individuals currently employed as police officers or health officers seeking to supplement their work with compliance inspection duties. Inspectors will perform both undercover and overt evaluations to uphold the integrity of retail operations and ensure that businesses comply with established laws and standards within the region.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct Inspections: Perform regular and surprise inspections of retail outlets in Puerto Rico to verify compliance with relevant regulations governing the sale and promotion of products.
Documentation and Evidence Management: Collect, document, and preserve evidence from inspections, ensuring all findings are accurately recorded and submitted to the appropriate authorities.
Support Enforcement Actions: Assist in enforcement or judicial actions by preparing necessary documentation and providing testimony when required.
Data Integrity: Maintain the confidentiality and integrity of all inspection data and related evidence.
Coordination and Scheduling: Collaborate with Program Coordinators to schedule and execute inspections efficiently within designated timeframes.
Utilize Management Systems: Use the Compliance Inspection Management System (CIMS) or equivalent data management tools for reporting and record-keeping.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all inspections adhere to applicable laws and regulations, including age verification and advertising restrictions as relevant to the inspected sector.
Training and Development: Participate in ongoing training sessions to stay informed about regulatory updates, inspection methodologies, and best practices.
Independent Management: Handle multiple inspection assignments independently, demonstrating strong organizational and time-management skills.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Criminal Justice, Public Health, or Regulatory Affairs is preferred.
Experience in compliance inspections, law enforcement, or regulatory roles is advantageous.
Must be commissionable under the FDA’s guidelines, typically requiring being a health inspector, food inspector, police officer, or drug officer/employee of Puerto Rico.
Strong attention to detail and ability to document findings accurately.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple inspections simultaneously.
Familiarity with data management systems and technology used in compliance inspections.
Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel within Puerto Rico

Pay: $29.00 – $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
