Health Care Attorney Responsibilities & Duties

Investigate why a claim was denied.
Handle all communications with the insurer.
Prepare and file documentation, including appeals of claim denials.
Advise about going to court if the claim continues to be denied.
Represent clients in settlement negotiations or at trial.
Keep clients closely informed throughout the entire process.
Provide guidance to the company on HIPAA compliance and risk assessment.
Stay up to date with corporate practices of medicine doctrine compliance,

Health Care Attorney Qualifications & Skills

J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to the State Bar of California.
Experience in healthcare law or related fields
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Familiarity with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA, ACA, and Medicare/Medicaid
Experience with regulatory agencies and compliance issues
Strong negotiation and contract drafting skills
Proficiency with legal research tools
Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing in the area of health care law.
Strong understanding of federal and state health care laws and regulations.
Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 – $150,000.00 per year
