Get to Know the Business:
Through Link, Trio offers a new homeownership tool for lenders that provides access to home financing for those in the gap between renting and owning. Link provides direct loans, leases and contracts to consumers having a difficult time qualifying for a traditional home mortgage including: college graduates, first time home buyers, small business owners, gig workers, those with student loans, ITIN borrowers, those seeking Islamic home financing, and multi-generational households. Link financing options include a 40 year fully-amortizing home loan, 40 year buyout agreement, a 20 year bridge loan and a 5-year convertible lease. All Link financing options are backed by assumable 30-year FHA OwnOption Mortgages.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Entry-Level In-House Paralegal to support our growing Legal Department. In this fully remote position, you will work directly with our in-house paralegal and partner attorneys to assist with contract management, corporate governance, compliance initiatives, and a variety of legal and administrative tasks. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional interested in the intersection of law and real estate finance.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
Conduct legal research on lease and mortgage lending laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
Assist in coordinating with local attorneys to work through the eviction process and working to resolve delinquencies through payment plans to be serviced through the local attorneys.
Assist contracted attorneys in drafting and reviewing contracts, loan agreements, and other legal documents related to real estate transactions.
Help ensure proper delinquency notices are reviewed and sent out.
Help ensure local counsel representation is available to the company and vetted in all active markets.
Track and update status on a variety of cases and documents.
Assist with collecting information and onboarding applicable accounts with collection agencies.
Coordinate with internal departments to gather necessary information and documents for legal matters, including HOA/city violations, loan modifications, delinquency and eviction processes, and ad-hoc situations.
Assist in responding to inquiries and requests from regulatory agencies, auditors, and external legal counsel.
Assist in the preparation of legal opinions, memoranda, and presentations on relevant legal issues affecting the company.
Provide support during internal audits and regulatory examinations, including document retrieval and review.

Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a remote and fast-paced environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable with organizational software tools.
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding ethical standards in all interactions.
Education:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field (required).
Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program (preferred).
