Job Description:

Delgado Trial Attorneys is seeking a Legal Assistant’Paralegal to join our team in Miami, FL. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated applicant to join a growing law firm seeking a full-time or part-time legal assistant/paralegal for our boutique maritime law and personal injury law practice.

We are seeking a positive and professional individual to provide legal assistance, support and case management of Plaintiff Pre-Litigation injury cases and Litigation support; Excellent grammar and writing skills needed, bilingual (Spanish) preferred. Ideal candidate will be experienced with dealing with injury clients, preparing letters of rep; notice letters, demands, negotiating bills and liens, Civil Remedy Notices; communicating with adjusters, physicians’ offices, Medicare, Health Care Liens; Managing intake of prospective new clients for injury; Exposure to and familiarity with some litigation matters including scheduling case specific events and e-filing in state and federal courts; preparing Complaint and pleadings; Supporting and assisting with obtaining and charting medical records & bills; Assisting with discovery matters and providing litigation support.

Responsibilities:
Provide administrative support to the attorneys.

Answer phone calls and take messages.
Schedule appointments and prepare attorney for meetings, hearings, depositions and trial.
Scan, copy, and distribute documents.
Create and maintain case specific contact lists and document logs.
Manage & Monitor calendars and coordinate meetings with other departments.
Maintain client files, including e-filing documents in state and federal court and scheduling of case related events.
File documents in appropriate locations as assigned by the attorney or manager.
Communicate with clients regarding status of their cases.
Other duties as assigned by the attorney or manager.

Qualifications:
·High School Diploma or GED required; Associates Degree preferred but not required.
·Previous legal experience preferred but not required; Paralegal certification preferred but not required; Excellent organizational skills; Ability to prioritize tasks; Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams); Knowledge of legal software preferred but not required (CA Law Certified)

The Legal Assistant will work in a fast-paced office environment that involves a variety of tasks related to the practice of law. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently with minimal supervision but also enjoys working in a team environment. Applicants should be comfortable working on a computer, and willing to learn new skills as we continue to grow within the Miami, FL community of law firms.

Pay: $35,000.00 – $50,000.00 per year
