We are seeking an experienced Legal & Compliance Manager to oversee regulatory compliance, mitigate risks, and provide strategic legal guidance in a high-pressure environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards in consumer retail and consumer finance.
Provide expert legal advice on commercial transactions and regulatory matters.
Develop, implement, and monitor compliance policies and frameworks to mitigate legal and financial risks.
Liaise with regulatory authorities and investigate legal matters.
Conduct internal compliance audits and ensure adherence to law and policies.
Manage legal disputes and litigation effectively.
Support business units by providing practical legal solutions in a fast-paced and pressurised environment.
Requirements:
LLB or equivalent compliance qualification.
3 – 5 years of experience in legal and compliance within consumer retail and consumer finance
Strong knowledge of South African and Sub-Sahara Africa jurisdiction consumer protection laws, financial regulations, and corporate governance. Proven ability to manage legal risks in a high-pressure business environment.
Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Strong analytical, communication, and leadership abilities.
