Andria Papageorgiou Law Firm is looking to hire a Legal and Compliance Officer for full-time employment at its Limassol office.

Responsibilities

The Employee shall perform the duties of a Legal and Compliance Officer and shall, among other things:

  1. Provide legal advice and support on corporate, commercial, employment, data protection, intellectual property, licensing and regulatory matters.
  2. Ensure ongoing compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry standards.
  3. Draft, review, negotiate, and manage commercial agreements, contracts, policies, procedures, and other legal documentation.
  4. Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and advise management on their impact on the Employer's business and operations.
  5. Develop, implement, review, and update compliance policies, procedures, manuals, and internal controls.
  6. Conduct compliance monitoring, internal reviews, and risk assessments, and recommend appropriate corrective actions where necessary.
  7. Assist in identifying, assessing, and managing legal, regulatory, operational, and reputational risks.
  8. Liaise with regulatory authorities, external legal advisers, auditors, consultants, and other professional advisers as required.
  9. Support in obtaining, maintaining, and renewing licences, registrations, and regulatory approvals.
  10. Ensure compliance with AML/CFT, sanctions, data protection, GDPR, DORA, consumer protection, and other applicable regulatory obligations where relevant.
  11. Deliver legal and compliance training and awareness programmes.
  12. Maintain accurate legal and compliance records, registers, and documentation required by law or internal policies.
  13. Assist with corporate governance matters, including board resolutions, corporate filings, statutory records, and company secretarial matters where required.
  14. Participate in the development of new products, services, and business initiatives by providing legal and regulatory guidance.
  15. Protect and maintain the confidentiality of all legal, regulatory, commercial, and proprietary information obtained during employment.
  16. Perform any other legal, regulatory, compliance, risk management, or governance duties reasonably assigned by the Employer from time to time that are consistent with the Employee's position and qualifications.

Qualifications

  • Holder of degree in Law (LLB);
  • Member of the Cyprus Bar Association;
  • Masters' in Law (LLM) and/or Legal Practice Course (LPC) will be considered as an advantage.
  • At least 2 years of related experience;

  • Fluent in Greek and English languages, both written and verbal;
