Andria Papageorgiou Law Firm is looking to hire a Legal and Compliance Officer for full-time employment at its Limassol office.
Responsibilities
The Employee shall perform the duties of a Legal and Compliance Officer and shall, among other things:
- Provide legal advice and support on corporate, commercial, employment, data protection, intellectual property, licensing and regulatory matters.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry standards.
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage commercial agreements, contracts, policies, procedures, and other legal documentation.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and advise management on their impact on the Employer's business and operations.
- Develop, implement, review, and update compliance policies, procedures, manuals, and internal controls.
- Conduct compliance monitoring, internal reviews, and risk assessments, and recommend appropriate corrective actions where necessary.
- Assist in identifying, assessing, and managing legal, regulatory, operational, and reputational risks.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, external legal advisers, auditors, consultants, and other professional advisers as required.
- Support in obtaining, maintaining, and renewing licences, registrations, and regulatory approvals.
- Ensure compliance with AML/CFT, sanctions, data protection, GDPR, DORA, consumer protection, and other applicable regulatory obligations where relevant.
- Deliver legal and compliance training and awareness programmes.
- Maintain accurate legal and compliance records, registers, and documentation required by law or internal policies.
- Assist with corporate governance matters, including board resolutions, corporate filings, statutory records, and company secretarial matters where required.
- Participate in the development of new products, services, and business initiatives by providing legal and regulatory guidance.
- Protect and maintain the confidentiality of all legal, regulatory, commercial, and proprietary information obtained during employment.
- Perform any other legal, regulatory, compliance, risk management, or governance duties reasonably assigned by the Employer from time to time that are consistent with the Employee's position and qualifications.
Qualifications
- Holder of degree in Law (LLB);
- Member of the Cyprus Bar Association;
- Masters' in Law (LLM) and/or Legal Practice Course (LPC) will be considered as an advantage.
- At least 2 years of related experience;
