NY investment management company is seeking a Legal Analyst.
3-6 years of professional experience, preferably in the in-house legal or compliance department of an investment manager/hedge fund, but experience at a broker-dealer, law firm or compliance consulting firm is also qualifying
Job Description
* Assist with the preparation, negotiation, execution and record keeping of legal documentation, including vendor agreements, investment-related agreements, non-disclosure agreements, corporate governance materials, and fund offering documents
* Work closely with the Head of Legal to develop and manage new processes
* Assist with the management and execution of strategic projects as the firm continues to globally expand
* Work independently to liaise with other departments including compliance, operations, investor relations, finance, and human resources
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree. Special certifications or graduate degrees, including a J.D., are helpful
* 3-6 years of professional experience, preferably in the in-house legal or compliance department of an investment manager/hedge fund, but experience at a broker-dealer, law firm or compliance consulting firm is also qualifying
* Demonstrated ability to assess, organize, and communicate complex information and to propose, document, and execute solutions
* Adept at Microsoft Office products and able and willing to evaluate and become expert in new software, particularly databases, project management, and similar systems
* Ability or interest to work with AI is an advantage
* Fast learner, able to take instruction and work unsupervised. Takes initiative to identify problems and propose solutions
* Careful and thoughtful communicator, both orally and in writing
* Efficient, organized, and attentive to detail, particularly in record keeping and process management.
* High-level interpersonal skills.
* Presents with professionalism and confidence
