Our Mission: The purpose of the Hays-Caldwell Women’s Center is to create an environment where violence and abuse are not tolerated in the communities we serve. The Center will provide education, violence prevention services, and crisis intervention to victims of family violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and child abuse. We will seek the support and resources necessary to achieve this mission.
Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Legal Advocate to join our team. Responsibilities will include providing comprehensive legal advocacy, including assisting clients applying for legal aid and protective orders, accompanying clients to court, safety planning, and assisting clients in accessing community resources.
Qualifications: It is our goal to hire someone that genuinely cares about victims of abuse and understands the legal issues that victims may face. A successful candidate will have knowledge and understanding of legal advocacy, the justice system, and local resources. Providing legal advocacy to adult victims of family violence and sexual assault will be the primary job focus.

Salary: The annual salary for the Legal Advocate ranges from $42,000-$44,000 depending on education and experience.
HCWC also provides annual raises to all staff, longevity increases after 2 years of employment, paid time for clinical supervision, $500 toward continuing education/trainings per year, as well as reimbursement for work-related mileage at the current state rate of $0.76/mile.
Benefits: Employee benefits include 10 days of paid vacation annually (available after 6 months of employment), 12 days of wellness leave annually, and 13 paid holidays. The agency currently offers health insurance through Blue Cross Blue Shield with the agency contributing $562 per month toward health insurance costs and the employee paying between $0 and $170 per month depending on the plan selected. (If a Health Savings Account Plan is selected, HCWC deposits $100 per month in the individual’s HSA account). HCWC also provides all full-time, benefits eligible employees with $20,000 Life and AD&D Insurance coverage (benefit reduces after age 65). Additional group insurance options are available at the employees’ expense. A Simple IRA retirement plan with a matching 3% agency contribution is also available Jan. 1st following one full year of employment.
