Legal Advisor – IT Project Contracting Jobs in Sandton, South Africa at The Focus Group
Purpose
To protect the legal interests of the client and thereby contribute to the success of all businesses in the client group.
Responsibilities

Contracting and advising the the client on contractual matters in line with the clients strategies.

Analyses and effectively negotiating contract terms that support the business objectives, while complying with applicable laws and company policies.

Independently review, draft, and negotiate contracts, amendments, and templates in support of the growing business ventures.

Resolve contractual and commercial problems.

Manage short and long term commercial ventures.

Risk management.
-
General understanding of relevant compliance related matters.

Consult on legal matters and handle briefing of attorneys for referred matters.

Keep abreast with relevant legislation and ensure that all stakeholders understand implications.

Working collaboratively with other areas within the clients organization

Provide clear, concise, and practical legal and commercial advice and counsel to business teams on a wide array of business and contractual issues while coordinating with other legal team members and stakeholders as necessary to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.

Partner with the business to successfully drive the initiatives they are championing and to provide overall support for execution of strategy.

Manage the Group’s Intellectual Property portfolio.

Conduct training sessions for internal team members on procedures and other contract or legal topics, as necessary.

Completed LLB degree
-
5 to 7 years relevant experience

Experience in dealing with multiple external partners is essential. Experience in Financial Services is advantageous

IT and IT Project Contracting experience should be 80% of what you do

Salary range depending on your experience and current market related salary range.
