Our team is growing, and now we have a new opening for the position of Legal Advisor.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice on EMI regulatory framework, including: Electronic Money Directive (EMD2), Payment Services Directive (PSD2), Bulgarian Payment Services and Payment Systems Act
- Support regulatory interactions with the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB)
- Draft, review, and negotiate: Payment services agreements, Partnerships agreements, Outsourcing and vendor agreements
- Provide legal input into the product development, including e-wallets, payment cards, IBAN accounts, and payment APIs
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments in Bulgaria and the EU
- Assist with internal governance, policies, and regulatory reporting
- Liaise with external lawyers, auditors, and regulators
Requirements
- Law degree
- 3+ years of experience in financial regulation, payments, or fintech
- Strong knowledge of: EMI / payments regulatory framework and PSD2/EMD2
- Experience dealing with regulators (BNB or other EU authorities) is highly desirable
- Excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills
- Business-oriented mindset with strong analytical abilities
- Fluency in English (Bulgarian is required)
Nice to Have
- Experience in an EMI, payment institution, or digital bank
- Exposure to card schemes and payment processing flows
- Experience in cross-border EU operations (passporting)
