Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Legal Advisor role based in Chennai. The Legal Advisor will provide day-to-day legal support to management and project teams, including reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts with clients, vendors, and contractors. The role involves assessing legal risks, advising on regulatory and compliance requirements relevant to interior design, real estate, and commercial operations, and resolving legal issues that arise in ongoing projects. The Legal Advisor will prepare and maintain legal documentation, policies, and standard operating procedures, and oversee updates as laws and business needs evolve. The role will also involve advising on labor and employment matters, assisting with dispute resolution, coordinating with external counsel when needed, and providing clear, practical legal guidance to non-legal stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Law with experience advising on business, commercial, and contract law matters.
- Proficiency in Legal Document Preparation, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, agreements, and policies.
- Ability to analyze and resolve a broad range of Legal Issues and provide practical, risk-aware Legal Advice to internal teams.
- Working knowledge of Labor and Employment Law, including hiring practices, workplace policies, and employee relations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B) required; LL.M or specialized certifications in corporate or employment law are an advantage.
- 2–5 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in corporate, real estate, construction, or design-related industries.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly.
- Strong attention to detail, ethical judgment, and the ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
- Comfort working on-site with cross-functional teams in Chennai and collaborating with stakeholders at different levels.
