Title: Legal Advisor

Location: Amman, Jordan

To provide legal counsel and support the internal functions of Jordan River Foundation through legal consulting including contracting, due diligence, litigation etc.

Core Responsibilities:

Preparation and review of various legal matters including but not limited to contracts regularly required by the Foundation to ensure that the best interests of the Foundation are protected at all times (i.e. Human Resources, Projects, Sales and Purchases, Asset Management, Consultancy, Financing and etc…).

Provision of legal advice on all types of matters related to the Foundation. To ensure the progress of work in accordance with the procedures of JRF

Liaising with third parties, various regulatory bodies and governmental authorities. To follow updates on government procedures

Review of litigation briefs filed by or against the Foundation. Attend, as and when required, with the Foundation’s external lawyers, court proceedings to ensure the Foundation’s interests are properly represented.

Participation in negotiations with relevant line managers and third parties for concluding commercial transactions. To ensure the progress of work in accordance with the procedures of JRF

Preparation of legal notices, replies and other types of correspondence. To ensure the progress of work in accordance with the procedures of JRF

Preparation and assistance of petitions and memorandum of defences. To ensure the progress of work in accordance with the procedures of JRF

Assistance in corporate legal affairs. (i.e. Foundation registration and renewal matters, safe keeping of Foundation records, minutes drafting of resolutions, authentication of legal instruments and etc…). to ensure that all documents are controlled and archived

Attend and provide legal advice relating to employee grievance, tribunals, investigations and disciplinary outcomes. To ensure compliance of all procedures with Jordanian labor law

As and when required, undertaking any additional task(s) to support the Foundation in achieving its Foundation plan and Director General’s requests. To ensure JRF plan runs as planned

Ensure all contracts and legal documents are uploaded onto the Legal Document Management system. to ensure that all documents are controlled and archived

Deliver trainings on any legal topics such as, Labor Law and Code of Conduct. To ensure that all JRF staff has the knowledge about their rights

Managerial Responsibilities:

Manages the team by evaluating the performance of team members, provides feedback on an on-going basis, identifies development needs and coaches them to ensure on-going capability development.

Reviews assignment of staff to cross functional teams and, if necessary, revises accordingly

Qualifications:

Bachelor Degree in Law.

Professional legal qualification or certification preferred (Jordan Bar Association ) valid membership.

Strong English and Arabic language skills (written and spoken)

5-8 Years Of Experience
