We are currently seeking a full-time Legal Administrative Assistant who is motivated, team-oriented, and ready to take on new challenges. This is an in-office position, ideal for someone who is looking to begin their legal career and gain valuable hands-on litigation and client experience. The Legal Administrative Assistant provides high-level administrative and operational support to paralegals and attorneys at the firm. The ideal candidate is highly organized, business-minded, and comfortable handling confidential corporate matters in a fast-paced environment. The position requires strong attention to detail, excellent proofreading abilities, and advanced word processing skills.
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who meet the following requirements:
- At least 1 year of experience in a law firm setting or in-house legal department.
- Strong understanding of corporate legal functions, contracts, and governance processes.
- Proficiency in Outlook and Microsoft Word and legal/contract management systems.
- Familiar with Microsoft Excel and Power Point.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support.
- Draft, format, proofread, and maintain legal documents, including complaints, answers, counterclaims, motions, as well as contracts, NDAs, and outgoing correspondence (redlining, comparing docs, converting pdfs, outlines, etc.).
- Maintain records, legal files, and document organization within the firm’s practice management software.
- Support internal policies, adhere to firm training documentation, and act professionally with all communications in this role.
- Act as a key point of contact between clients and paralegals, attorneys, and other staff
