Millar Kreklewetz LLP is a boutique Canadian law firm specializing in Indirect Tax, Customs and Trade, with offices in downtown Toronto. For the last 30 years we have been the leading Canadian firm in this area and have National and International clients in virtually all industry sectors.

We are looking for another member to join our Admin Team and are accepting applications for the position of Legal Assistant. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing front desk client representation and administrative support to the lawyers. This is a full-time position with a starting salary that is competitive in the downtown core.

We are currently seeking the following:

Legal Assistant

Responsibilities:

Reception work (answering telephone, greeting clients, library filings, etc.);

Liaising with clients on administrative issues;

Retrieving and distributing incoming mail;

Ordering office supplies;

Performing general clerical duties, including filing, faxing, scanning, photocopying and scheduling appointments;

Make travel arrangements (booking flights, accommodations, tradeshow shipments, etc.);

Organizing and maintaining physical and electronic filing systems;

Multi-tasking secretarial work with reception duties; and

Docket entry, generate pre-bills and process accounts when appropriate.

Qualifications or Skills Required:

Successful completion of a post secondary legal assistant program or equivalent with up 2 years of relevant experience;

Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint);

PC Law knowledge would be an asset;

Professional manner with excellent written and verbal communication skills;

Attention to detail and with the ability to adjust to changing priorities;

Strong organizational skills with proven ability to meet strict deadlines;

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision;

Ability to take initiative, prioritize and multitask; and

Desire and ability to work cooperatively within a team environment.
