Responsibilities:
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of contracts and legal documents, including financial contracts and service agreements.
- Ensuring ongoing compliance with Mexican financial regulations and requirements issued by CNBV, CONDUSEF, and Banco de México (Banxico), including AML/CFT, PEP screening, and internal compliance policies.
- Managing corporate governance documentation, including bylaws, board and shareholder meeting minutes, powers of attorney, and other corporate records.
- Advising on structuring products, debt restructuring (e.g., GICSA bonds), and specific financial instruments like mutual funds.
- Assisting in the recovery of delinquent accounts for credit products and protecting the company’s rights, including but not limited to reviewing collection processes, dealing with delinquent accounts, and potentially litigation/enforcement.
- Handling/assisting government communications, regulatory filings, and interactions related to day-to-day operations and business expansion.
- Tracking, researching, and analyzing industry regulations, preparing internal summaries, and providing actionable compliance recommendations.
- Complying with and implementing the company’s internal rules, policies, and procedures, and performing other legal or compliance-related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- A Law Degree with a valid professional license is mandatory; a J.D. equivalent or Master’s in Corporate/Financial Law is highly preferred.
- Typically 2–5 years of legal working experience; prior experience in the financial sector (e.g., Banca, SOFOM, or Fintech) is a strong plus. Familiarity with CNBV and CONDUSEF portals is preferred.
- Fluency in English and Spanish is required; proficiency in Chinese is a plus.
