Job Description
- Serve as the primary legal counsel and trusted business partner to senior management.
- Lead all legal, compliance, and intellectual property matters across the organization.
- Provide day-to-day legal support to e-commerce, digital marketing, online sales, and omnichannel business operations.
- Support retail store operations, and customer-facing initiatives.
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a broad range of commercial agreements.
- Establish and enhance compliance frameworks, policies, and internal governance procedures.
- Advise on advertising, consumer protection, competition, and product-related regulatory matters.
- Lead data privacy and data compliance initiatives, including assessment of regulatory risks and implementation of b/e/s/t practices.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments and advise business stakeholders accordingly.
- Manage trademark, copyright, and other intellectual property portfolios.
- Develop and execute brand protection and anti-counterfeiting strategies in collaboration with external partners and authorities.
- Investigate infringement matters and coordinate enforcement actions against counterfeit products and unauthorized channels.
- Manage external counsel and legal service providers.
- Deliver practical and business-oriented legal advice in a fast-paced commercial environment.
- Drive compliance awareness and legal training across the organization.
The Successful Applicant
- LLB, LLM from a reputable university.
- 6-12 years of post-qualification experience gained from reputable retail multinational companies.
- Strong experience in commercial legal affairs, compliance, and intellectual property matters.
- Familiarity with consumer, retail, fashion, luxury goods, FMCG, or e-commerce industries is highly preferred.
- Experience supporting digital business models and online sales channels.
- Practical understanding of data privacy and data compliance regulations, or demonstrated interest in developing expertise in this area.
- Strong contract drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proactive, hands-on, and commercially minded.
- Excellent communication and influencing capabilities, with the ability to engage effectively across all organizational levels.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, international, and fast-changing business environment.
- Fluent English and Mandarin communication skills.
