As a Lawyer in the Air Force, you’ll provide legal support to Defence leaders at all levels. You’ll make sure that military operations and aviation comply with legal obligations, assist commanders with personnel management, and ensure the military justice system runs smoothly.

Your duties may include:

Military Administrative Law

Military Operations Law

Military Discipline Law

Other areas of practice – specialist advice in areas such as workplace health and safety, copyright law, environmental law, and financial delegations and government contracts.

As an Air Force Officer, you’ll also be trained to become an inspirational leader and mentor, equipped with highly sought-after management skills.

Upon completion of initial military and employment training, you will enjoy a salary package starting from $93,973.

Location

Following training, you may be posted to one of the major Air Force bases around Australia, such as RAAF Base Amberley, Williamtown, or Edinburgh.

For this role, you must be at least 17 at the time of enlistment, an Australian Citizen, and meet the below education requirements:

tertiary qualifications in Law e.g. Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD)

admitted to practice as a legal practitioner to the Supreme Court of an Australian state or territory

hold a current practising certificate with a state or territory Law Society or be immediately eligible to obtain a practising certificate

have work or life experience relating to appropriate skills.
