Position: Lawyer / Associate
Company Description Hedge Legal is a boutique law firm providing advice and negotiation services for complex trading and financing documentation for hedge funds and sell-side firms. The firm represents some of the largest firms globally with a primary focus on US-based hedge funds and broker-dealers. Hedge Legal has extensive experience negotiating a wide array of trading documentation including Prime Brokerage, Term Commitment/Lock-Up, ISDA, Uncleared Margin Rules Implementation, Equity Master Confirmation Agreements, Futures Clearing, OTC Clearing, Repo, MSFTAs, and Custodial arrangements.
Role Description
The Associate will be responsible for drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts. Related tasks will be reviewing contracts and validating or inputting terms into a database.
Qualifications Quebec Bar required
Must live in Quebec In first or second year as a lawyer
NY Bar is a plus Strong analytical and
problem-solving
abilities
Excellent written and oral
communication skills
in English Ability to work both independently and in a team setting
Experience in legal research and writing
Background in hedge funds, securities law or corporate finance is a plus Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Bachelor’s degree in Law
