The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has become available for an Employment Lawyer to join a highly regarded Workplace Relations & Employment team in Sydney.

We are seeking lawyers from Associate through to Senior Associate level who are looking to further develop their careers within a sophisticated employment law practice advising premium domestic and international clients.

This role offers a unique mix of contentious and non-contentious employment law work across a diverse range of industries including:

  • Financial Services
  • Insurance
  • Construction & Engineering
  • Energy & Resources
  • Transport & Infrastructure
  • Technology & Telecommunications
  • Professional Services
  • Manufacturing and Industrial Sectors

You will work closely with leading employment law practitioners and be involved in complex workplace matters, strategic advisory work, investigations, disputes and major corporate transactions.

The Role

You will advise clients across a broad range of employment and workplace relations matters, including:

  • Employment contracts and executive agreements
  • Workplace policies and procedures
  • Workplace investigations and misconduct matters
  • Performance management and disciplinary processes
  • Terminations and workplace disputes
  • Restructuring and redundancy programs
  • Enterprise agreements and industrial relations matters
  • Employment aspects of mergers, acquisitions and corporate transactions
  • Executive remuneration and incentive arrangements
  • Employment litigation and Fair Work disputes
  • Settlement negotiations and dispute resolution
  • Regulatory compliance and workplace risk management

You will have direct client exposure and the opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders across local and international organisations.

About You

We are interested in speaking with lawyers who have:

Associate Level

  • 1–4 years' post-admission experience
  • Exposure to employment, workplace relations or industrial relations matters
  • Strong drafting and analytical skills
  • Excellent academic background
  • Desire to develop a long-term career in employment law

Senior Associate Level

  • 4+ years' post-admission experience
  • Strong employment law experience across advisory and disputes work
  • Experience managing client relationships and running matters
  • Strong commercial awareness and strategic thinking
  • Ability to mentor and support junior lawyers

For all levels, you will possess:

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Commercial and pragmatic approach to legal advice
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a high-performing team
  • A proactive and client-focused mindset
