Role Summary
The Data Privacy Lawyer will support the organization’s Data Privacy Office in ensuring compliance with applicable global and local data protection laws. The role focuses on privacy risk management, regulatory compliance support, and legal advisory services across business and technology projects. The role is suited for a junior legal professional with experience in data protection, regulatory compliance, and technology-related legal advisory work.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage and support privacy risk Identification, assessment, and tracking.
• Maintain Privacy Risk Register and support Privacy by Design/Default implementation
• Support Records of Processing Activities (RoPA) and data inventories
• Monitor and assess changes in global privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR and equivalent laws)
• Draft, review, and update privacy policies, notices, and legal guidance
• Support Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) and related privacy rights requests
• Provide legal input for Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs/DPIAs)
• Support privacy advisory for business and IT projects.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB or equivalent).
• 2–3 years’ experience in legal counsel/junior lawyer role
• Experience in data protection, privacy law, compliance, or technology law
• Familiarity with GDPR and comparable privacy frameworks
• Experience drafting legal documents and compliance materials
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with DPIAs / PIAs
• Exposure to vendor contracts and data sharing agreements
• Experience in regulatory audits or compliance reviews
• Privacy certification (e.g., CIPP/E) is an advantage
Additional Requirements
• Bilingual (Arabic & English) is an advantage
