Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Lawyer role based in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The Lawyer will provide legal advice and representation to clients, draft and review contracts, pleadings, affidavits, and other legal documents, and conduct in-depth legal research to support case strategy. The role includes appearing before courts and tribunals, participating in client meetings, preparing case files, and managing timelines and documentation. The Lawyer will collaborate with colleagues on complex matters, assist in negotiations and dispute resolution, and ensure that all work complies with applicable laws, regulations, and professional ethics. The position also involves staying updated on legal developments relevant to the firm’s practice areas and contributing to internal knowledge sharing.
Qualifications
- Strong legal research, analysis, and writing skills, with the ability to interpret statutes, case law, and regulations clearly and accurately.
- Proficiency in drafting and reviewing legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, notices, and legal opinions.
- Experience appearing before courts or tribunals, with confident oral advocacy, negotiation, and client representation skills.
- Excellent client communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts in accessible language.
- Solid organizational and time-management abilities, including managing multiple matters, deadlines, and case files efficiently.
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B.) from a recognized institution; enrollment with the Bar Council of India is required.
- 7+ years of relevant post-qualification experience in litigation, corporate, or general practice (more experience is an advantage, and early-career lawyers are also welcome to apply if they demonstrate strong potential).
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and adherence to professional and ethical standards.
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written); knowledge of local languages used in Mumbai is an advantage.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and to be self-driven in handling assigned matters on-site.
- Family court experience preferable.
