Intake Specialist

The Company

TouchCare is a health tech startup headquartered in New York City and with offices in Shrewsbury, NJ. The Company provides a personal on-demand, white-glove healthcare concierge service that helps its members find the highest quality, most convenient, lowest out-of-pocket care; available via web, phone, and mobile app.

Traditionally, TouchCare hires recent college graduates from Universities throughout the country (particularly on the East Coast). As intake specialists, you will have the opportunity to work with individuals who have successfully and (somewhat recently) transitioned into the job market.

The Company’s clients include large self-insured companies or Universities and small to medium-size businesses who provide TouchCare to their employees as a benefit, oftentimes through their insurance Broker.

The Position – Intake Specialist

TouchCare Member Services Intake Specialists are responsible for answering inbound calls (scripted), securing proper intake information, transferring information into a secure system, and transferring calls to the appropriate TouchCare Health Assistant / Billing Specialist or scheduling a time for a call back.

Additional exposure might include: Case management on the Health Assistant Level and opportunity for advancement entering into a full time position as a Health Assistant or Billing Specialist.

Responsibilities

Participate in team meetings
Accept inbound Member Inquiries via HIPAA secure system
Verbally secure TouchCare Member intake information and properly transfer or schedule with internal Health Assistants and Billing Specialists
Assist Members with system registration navigation and basic outreach member support
Maintain a friendly and professional service relationship with our members throughout the intake process
Remain empathetic and supportive when Members are frustrated or in need of immediate assistance
Successful completion of two week training program
Successful completion of two hour HIPAA training and certification

Accepting constructive feedback from Health Assistants, Team Leads, Billing Specialists, Billing Managers, Peers, Mentors and Executives

Excellent computer skills –must understand web navigation and Microsoft applications (word, excel, etc)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required for speaking to members, physicians’ offices, hospitals, insurance companies, healthcare facilities and for noting this in the computer system for follow-up
Attention to detail and follow through
Must be organized and have the ability to multitask
Team player – willing to learn, assist and help other team members as required
Must have excellent customer service skills
Previous computer experience required
Successful background check

Hours: Monday-Friday 1:00pm-6:00pm
