Job Overview:
The Law Lecturer will be responsible for providing quality education to students in the fields of law, tort, criminal and justice. The lecturer will develop, design and deliver courses to students pursuing diplomas and/or degrees in Law. The lecturer will be responsible for conducting lectures, leading discussions, creating assignments and assessments, and providing guidance and support to students.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver lectures, tutorials and assessments for courses in field of law.
- Develop course materials, including syllabi, course outlines, lecture notes, and assignments.
- Conduct research and stay current with industry trends and developments to ensure that course content is up-to-date and relevant.
- Assess and grade students’ work, provide feedback and maintain accurate records of student progress.
- Create and maintain a positive learning environment that fosters student engagement and participation.
- Provide academic and personal support to students, including advising, tutoring and mentoring.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and improve the curriculum and teaching methodologies.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development activities and other institutional activities as required.
Qualifications:
Education
- A minimum of a master’s degree in Law, Criminal, Tort, Justice, or a related field.
Experience
- Teaching experience in higher education is preferred.
- Relevant industry experience in related to law.
- Experience in curriculum development and course design.
Knowledge
- Subject-specific expertise in disciplines relevant to law.
- Proficiency in using technology for teaching, learning and assessment.
- Familiarity with educational technology platforms and learning management systems.
Skills & Abilities
- Aptitude for building effective relationships with students and staff.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
