Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of legal procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. This role is essential in supporting attorneys with various legal matters, including but not limited to probate, real estate, premisses liability, and debt collections.
Responsibilities
Prepare routine legal documents and correspondence under attorney supervision
Manage case files and maintain client records.
Coordinate hearing(s), meeting(s), and calendaring deadlines.
Conduct legal research and draft correspondence.
Communicate with clients and other legal professionals.
Assist attorneys in the preparation and management of legal documents and case files.
Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and correspondence.
Manage case files through effective legal case management practices.
Communicate with clients and other stakeholders via phone and email while maintaining professional phone etiquette.
Organize and maintain electronic filing systems for easy access to information.
Support litigation processes by preparing trial materials and exhibits as needed.
Qualifications
Prior experience in an administrative or assistant capacity, preferably in the legal field
Proficient with technology, including word processing, e-mail, electronic storage of documents, e-filing
Strong organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures
Strong skills in legal drafting and case management are essential.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with an emphasis on professional phone etiquette.
