We are an established real estate law firm with offices across California. Our Los Angeles office is looking for a full-time Law and Motion Assistant. The purpose of this position is to assist attorneys and other individuals involved in the process of filing evictions.

Compensation

$22.00 – $29.00/hourly, depending on experience

Responsibilities

Draft, file and follow up on post settlement motions and declarations in unlawful detainer cases

Learn different court requirements for motion and ex-parte filings in the Los Angeles and Northern California jurisdictions

Contact the court to reserve hearing dates and obtain case status updates and rulings

Draft, files and serve Notice of Rulings and Entry of Judgments

Update clients regarding motions and oppositions

Additional duties as needed by the department

Qualifications

Previous legal experience, including drafting motions and ex-partes

Experience with California Efiling systems

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, versatile computer skills, and ability to multi-task

The Following Qualifications Are Preferred

Knowledge of unlawful detainers

Schedule

Position is full-time at 40 hours/week. Our business hours are 8:30am-5:30pm Monday-Thursday, 8:30am-5:00pm Friday.

We currently offer a hybrid, in-office/remote work model for select positions within the Firm. New hire employees who are offered a hybrid schedule will complete the majority of their onboarding and training in-office as deemed necessary for the position by the firm before transitioning to a hybrid schedule, subject to approval by their supervisor.
