Little Rock Police Department offers:
Hiring Incentive: Up to $10,000, with $5,000 payable upon completion of the first six months and $5,000 upon completion of twelve months of a 24-month probationary period.
Holiday Premiums: Available up to 4% of annual salary.
Starting salary: Up to $67,329, dependent on experience.
Salary Step Increases: Up to $80,038.40 at 15 years of service.
Benefits: Effective on the first day of employment with no waiting period.
Residency Incentive Program: Up to $5,000.

Second language incentives: Available to qualified candidates.
Educational Incentives: Payable immediately after Academy graduation, starting at 15 college credit hours and increasing up to $2,254.04 annually for graduate degrees.
The candidate must:
Possess a current active law enforcement Basic certification.
Possess a valid Arkansas Class D (Non-Commercial Vehicle) Driver’s License before employment and maintain licensure for the duration of employment.
Meet any other requirements established by the Little Rock Civil Service Commission and the State Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training.
Have at least 3 years of patrol experience.

Certified Police Officers will proceed directly to the background investigation step (written exam and physical agility testing are NOT required). Human Resources will conduct a preliminary background check, and candidates will be disqualified if any of the following are found:
Invalid driver’s license
Prior felony conviction (expunged or pardoned felonies still disqualify)
Prior domestic abuse conviction
Excessive traffic points within the past three years
