Our firm of 12-15 attorneys is known for providing sophisticated legal counsel while maintaining a collegial, collaborative, and team-oriented work environment.
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal to work directly with a Partner whose practice focuses on land use, commercial real estate transactions, and condominium matters.
This position offers significant responsibility, direct client interaction, and the opportunity to play a critical role in managing matters from inception through completion.
Position Summary
The successful candidate will work closely with one Partner and will be expected to take ownership of assignments, maintain active communication regarding matter status, and help ensure projects and transactions continue moving forward efficiently.
The role requires strong organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
Approximately 50% of the work will involve land use matters and 50% will involve commercial real estate transactions and condominium matters.
Responsibilities
Land Use
- Research zoning requirements and land use regulations
- Prepare and submit land use applications
- Draft correspondence, notices, affidavits, and supporting application materials
- Coordinate application submissions and supporting documentation
- Prepare and distribute statutory notices and mailings
- Assist with preparation for Planning Board and Zoning Board hearings
- Track deadlines and maintain project calendars
- Monitor matter progress and communicate status updates to clients, attorneys, and consultants
- Maintain organized electronic and physical files
Commercial Real Estate & Condominium Matters
- Review title commitments and related documents
- Prepare organizational documents, including basic operating agreements and resolutions
- Draft deeds, transfer documents, and contract amendments
- Assist with preparation and review of closing statements
- Coordinate due diligence and closing requirements
- Manage transaction checklists and closing timelines
- Support matters through closing and post-closing requirements
- Help ensure transactions progress efficiently and timelines are maintained
Client & Matter Management
- Facilitate client intake and onboarding
- Open, maintain, and close matter files
- Schedule meetings and coordinate communications
- Serve as a point of contact for clients regarding matter status
- Maintain accurate records and documentation throughout the life of a matter
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of experience in a law firm, title company, municipal office, real estate practice, or similar professional environment preferred
- Experience with commercial real estate, land use, municipal law, title, or transactional matters is a plus
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Ability to independently manage multiple assignments and deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Ability to work directly with clients and outside professionals
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
Paralegal certification is not required.

Schedule
This is a full-time, in-office position based in Madison, New Jersey.
Typical hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Additional hours may occasionally be required during active transactions, hearings, or major projects.

Pay: $50,000.00 – $60,000.00 per year
