The Temporary Senior Legal Specialist provides contract drafting and management, legal research, subpoena response, and other support to attorneys and staff advising St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and its subsidiaries. Work collaboratively with both internal and external colleagues to develop, systematically coordinate, and deliver the administrative services for the department.
This position may be eligible for the possibility of remote work.
This is a temporary position with an end date of 10/31/2025.
Job Responsibilities:
Prepare full subpoena response packages to be submitted to requesting party and/or other document requests, as needed.
Support policy and document updating and review for consistency with current legal and regulatory standards.
Assist attorneys and others with investigations and implementation of corrective actions, as needed.
Provide ongoing support to OLS & leadership within own area (e.g., Risk Management, Privacy).
Assist Legal Operations leader with legal operations function, as requested.
Perform simple contract/amendment drafting, review, and negotiation independently, and collaborate with different departments (e.g., materials management and information security) as needed.
Facilitate organization and maintenance of agreements in the contract lifecycle system and oversee OLS site materials.
Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution.
Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Minimum Education and/or Training:
Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Health Care Administration, Paralegal Studies, or related field.
Minimum Experience:
4+ years of legal assistant or paralegal experience (OR) Juris Doctorate degree with 1+ years of experience including internship(s).
Experience working in an academic or healthcare setting preferred.
Proven performance in earlier role.

Compensation
In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $10.00 – $72.11 per hour for the role of Temporary Senior Legal Specialist.
