Job Description
The Labor Law & Standards Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable labor laws, employment standards, and internal policies. The role provides expert guidance on employment‑related topics, supports HR and business stakeholders, and contributes to the development, implementation, and monitoring of labor law‑compliant frameworks across locations or business areas.
This role acts as a key interface between HR, Legal, Compliance, and local stakeholders to ensure consistent application of labor standards while respecting local legal requirements.
Responsibilities
Labor Law & Compliance
Monitor, interpret, and assess changes in labor laws, employment standards, and regulatory requirements.
Ensure global and local HR processes, policies, and practices are aligned with applicable labor law.
Provide expert advice on employment contracts, working time, remuneration structures, termination, and disciplinary matters.
Support audits, reviews, and compliance checks related to labor law and employment standards.
Policy & Standards Management
Develop, review, and maintain labor law–related policies, guidelines, and standards.
Support the definition of global frameworks while allowing for legally mandated local deviations.
Document labor law requirements and ensure transparency and traceability of decisions.
Contribute to internal standards related to employee lifecycle processes (recruitment, onboarding, employment, offboarding).
Stakeholder Advisory & Support
Act as a trusted advisor for HR teams, managers, and business leaders on labor law topics.
Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, Works Councils, and employee representatives, where applicable.
Support escalation management related to complex or sensitive labor law cases.
Provide guidance to locations or business areas on implementing labor law‑compliant solutions.
Training & Awareness
Support the development and delivery of awareness sessions or guidance materials on labor law topics.
Strengthen labor law knowledge within HR and relevant business communities.
Promote consistent understanding of employment standards across regions.
Projects & Continuous Improvement
Contribute to HR transformation initiatives (e.g. system implementations, process harmonization).
Support labor law impact assessments for new tools, processes, or organizational changes.
Identify risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities related to labor law compliance.
Qualifications
Education
University degree in Law, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Specialization or strong academic focus on labor law / employment law is an advantage.
Professional Experience
Several years of experience in labor law, employment standards, HR compliance, or a related function.
Experience working in a multinational or matrix organization is preferred.
Exposure to working with local labor law frameworks across multiple countries is highly desirable.
Experience collaborating with Legal, HR, and employee representation bodies is a plus.
Fluency in English is required; other european languages are an advantage.
