We are seeking a dedicated and skilled attorney in San Luis Obispo with a passion for estate planning to join our team on a part-time basis with the potential to become full-time within one year as practice expands. Our firm specializes in providing comprehensive estate services including planning, administration probate and litigation. Our main office is located in Ventura, CA, with five additional branch offices located in Westlake Village, Valencia, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo and Bakersfield.
Role Description
The Attorney will be responsible for day-to-day tasks related to estate planning, including providing legal advice, conducting research, and drafting documents. This role is primarily located in San Luis Obispo, CA, with flexibility for some remote work.
Responsibilities:
Manage a caseload of estate planning matters.
Conduct legal research and draft legal documents including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate planning instruments.
Advise clients on estate planning strategies tailored to their unique needs and objectives.
Represent clients in trust administration, probate proceedings and litigation, including court appearances as necessary.
Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to ensure timely and efficient delivery of legal services
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of experience practicing estate planning
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
Admission to the CA state bar and in good standing
Strong understanding of estate planning principles, including wills, trusts, and estate taxation.
Ability to provide accurate legal advice
Excellent negotiation and communication skills
Attention to detail and ability to handle complex documents
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to occasionally travel between firm’s six offices
